Sidewalk art is such a leap of faith: Will anyone stop and stare? Will a dog leave a gift on it? Will the rain wash it away?
So when I saw this elaborate chalk drawing outside Toronto’s Eaton Centre shopping mall, I was immediately drawn to it. (Pun intended!)
And I wasn’t the only one. There was a crowd of at least 15 people admiring the artist’s work as he put a few finishing touches on MJ’s hair.
The handwritten words on the right explained that he was an artist from China and requested donations to support his artistic endeavours. How could I refuse?
I also complimented him on his work, but he was already grinning ear to ear at the appreciative ooohs and aaahs and picture taking of the people around me, one of whom might have taken this shot. Thank you, whoever you may be.
P.S. From the sublime to the hilarious …
You may have already seen this Squirrel Paparazzi photo, but in case you haven’t, it made me smile. You can read the whole story here. Enjoy!
