I just heard the nicest good-deed story from our office manager. I was complementing her on the beautiful Christmas tree in our lobby, since she’s the one who usually gets stuck assembling and decorating it all by herself.
Turns out, this year, she arrived at the office to a fully decorated tree across from the reception desk. It even had sparking new decorations on it.
She said that one of our senior vice-presidents had come in over the weekend, set up the tree and trimmed it with tinsel and ornaments for a nice surprise for her Monday morning.
Now this is a super-busy executive who’s usually rushing around between back-to-back meetings and high-powered conference calls. Wow.
My Christmas deed today is to make a donation to the Christian Children’s Fund of Canada — depending on what you donate (from warm blankets to school books to mosquito nets), the Canadian government will match $3 for every $1, for four times the impact.
