An eye for kindness

It’s been a minute since my last post, very sorry about that. So many people seemed to be uber productive during the pandemic… including Uber… but as you can see, I was not one of them. 🙂

But today I felt compelled to share this with you. My dear husband, Guy, did something that kind of blew my mind. It was an action so small, so simple, in the grand scheme of things, but spoke to his innate kind nature and it touched me deeply.

There’s an eye physician and surgeon’s office next door to our house and it was closed today. A lady walking by stopped to read their sign and then noticed Guy and I sitting on our porch.

She walked up to ask us about the eye doctor and said she’d been trying different specialists and no one seemed to be able to help her.

Guy told her how happy we’d been with “Dr. Joe,” as we call him, over the years and suggested she jot down his phone number, which was printed on the sign in front of his office.

That’s when things got crazy.

Without her having to ask, Guy ran inside, got a pen and a piece of paper and brought it over to the (masked) lady so she could write down the doc’s number. She was super grateful and wished us both a good day.

Such a small gesture but the way Guy automatically jumped in to help without having to think about it pretty much sums him up.

Feeling grateful to know him and even more grateful to be married to him. And vowing to try and be more like him.

If you’ve noticed any simple acts of kindness lately, please share in the comments, I’d love to hear about them!

Have a wonderful day and thanks for being here!
